You're allowed to choose who you work with.

I can tell in the first minute of an enquiry call whether someone's going to waste my time, or if I'm excited to help them.

Yesterday I had a Bali Retreat Broker zoom call enquiry. They were an NLP Practitioner and ran in-person trainings. Their website was ok... definitely needed work, but came across as professional.

Until it, or should I say: they, didn't.

The person called me while watching their son playing soccer and vaping.

1. I'm a stickler for presence. ​
   I understand we all have commitments - but don't book a meeting when you're unable to be present. Just don't. Multi-tasking and meetings don't mix. Especially if you haven't met.
   ​
2. Vaping is gross.
   I don't know why people feel this is any different from smoking a cigarette. I see it often on Zoom... it's a 'Mad Men' 1960's and 70's failed regression and poor form.
   ​
3. Practice what you preach.
   ​This person was an NLP Practitioner supposedly helping others to better their lives. It was 100% off-putting and I would never engage with this health practitioner's content or trainings. They wanted me to help with their marketing.
   ​
   Forget it.

When you turn up as the example, just watch everything turn around.

Ps. Are you a vaper? This email is not personal - we all have our vices... me included (in fact I used to smoke from 16-35yrs) 🙋🏼‍♀️ but pick your timing. The ability to remote work doesn't mean you lower your standards. Sure, wear your PJ bottoms while on a Zoom - but make sure your upper half is in the zone.
