Hi Reader,
I have this pain-in-the-ass money mindset I'm constantly working on.
β
βWhen things are tight I try to figure out how I can stretch $20 to cover $40.
It's ridiculous!
Growing up I watched both parents hustle with work, multiple jobs, side gigs and businesses. I even remember counting coins at the dinning table. It was a family effort to give me the incredible life changing experience of going on exchange to Sweden for a year when I was 16.
Blood sweat and tears went into making that happen. Gratitude doesn't even cut it how much that meant to me - even now.
Counting all those 50 cents pieces and gold dollar coins came from running a pancake stall at a huge festival to raise money for my exchange. It was a massive undertaking with my whole family, aunties and uncles included, turning up to chip in.
I can't help but wonder:
βWhat if we had doubled the price of the pancakes?β
β
In survival mode, many of us go back to the mentality of 'cheap'. How can I make this dollar stretch further? What can I do or sell cheap that people will buy to make what I need?
How about instead you stop and focus on: β
How do I make better & more fruitful sales instead?β
β
Be Revolutionary,
Ps. Do you find yourself doing this? I'm running a free Bali Retreat Masterclass next week. In it I will be going through some fundamentals that translate into any start-up business. If you're interested in joining you can Register Here.β

Uber: A Side Hustle or Thorn In Your Side?
I don't drive a car, so this will never be an option for me. But I do know a number of people who do drive Uber to bring in extra cash. Be careful it doesn't switch from being a side-gig to the focus of making ends-meat. Taking over as the main source of income and pulling away at your time and energy needed to get your start-up business running.
I've worked part-time gigs... from markets, data entry and marketing project work. All of them I've walked away from feeling super resentful as I felt under valued, under paid and that I had wasted so much time and energy that could have been used better elsewhere.
I'm not poo-pooing casual or part-time work. Sometimes the need is very real - I've done it and know it is.
But have a transition plan.
If you find yourself thinking that if you don't drive Uber your life is going to end. Just stop and think about that for a bit.
Uber for me falls into the same category as stacking shelves in a supermarket or cleaning toilets. Sometimes you got to do the dirty work to make things happen - but treat it as a side gig. NOT your main income. Have an end date and goal in mind.
The only reason I bring this up, is lately I have seen and heard of multiple start-up business owners getting very stuck in an Uber rut.
Don't do it.
In the beginning it can seem fun and easy. But sitting all day - a lot of the time in isolation coupled with lack of sleep, is not going to help get your business idea out there and heading in the right direction.
Be strong - in mind, body, spirit AND business strategy.
